THE PROJECT
The project consists in the total redevelopment of the thermal power plant at the service of the central post office in Rome.
 
THE CHALLENGE
At the time of the redevelopment, some old competitive boilers were installed in the plant, installed over thirty years before, characterized by very low yields and high operating costs. The challenge was based on providing a system capable of:

- represent a technologically advanced solution, capable of serving 12 buildings and a total of 6000 people;
- work at high loads 24 hours a day, 365 days a year;
- reduce returns and consequent operating costs;
- ensuring compliance with the most stringent industry regulations;
- to be a superior solution to the point of undermining existing competition.

THE SOLUTION
ICI CALDAIE has proposed a winning solution proposing four TNOX 6000 hot water boilers, for a total of 24,000 kW of power, characterized by high efficiency, compliance with the most stringent regulations in the field of atmospheric emissions and excellent resistance to heavy working loads.
The ICI CALDAIE solution proved to be a winner in terms of product quality and yields, the ICI Caldaie generators in fact guaranteed returns that the competition boilers would have obtained only with the addition of an economizer, this means that an ICI Caldaie plant would guarantee the customer in addition to the Reliability also means continuous savings thanks to lower operating costs.
The supply of boilers was combined with the intelligent management system eterm ™, which can also remotely control cascade and climate management. The operating parameters, the alarm thresholds and the consumptions of the system are controlled by a single web based console, for a totally free monitoring, intervention and modification of the parameters and released from the installation site.
